APRIL NEWSLETTER
THE WINCHESTER CLUB NEWSLETTER APRIL 2022 **************************************************************
Hello Everyone,
Well...Spring really is here, and the Easter Bunny will soon be leaving those lovely Easter Eggs.
So wish all our Members a Happy Easter, let’s hope its a peaceful, warm and safe one for all of us. Here is the latest Club news.

**************************************************************
CLUB MEMBERSHIP CARDS.
During the Pandemic, the Government encouraged people to use their Bank Cards to pay for purchases. However the Club is being charged quite a lot for the privilege of accepting Bank Cards. In order to reduce the number of transactions, we would encourage you to use the TOP UP FACILITY on your Club Card. This will reduce the number of transactions and allow you to pay for your drinks by spending your top up balance. Its a no brainer really, you have to have your card on you when you are in the Club and you’ll be saving the Club money! **************************************************************
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MAINTENANCE WORK
We are looking for help with the Club Maintenance Projects. If you are able to help with any DIY tasks, please contact Chris Ralph. He’s at the Club most days and would be only too pleased to get any offer of help.

OTELLI’S KITCHEN
Mike and Fiona have now been with us for a year in May. They have fitted in so well, it seems as if we have had them with us for much longer. They are organising an Otelli’s Open Day on Saturday 21st of May, starting with Breakfast(10am Till 12 Midday), bowling demonstrations, a bingo session, tea dance, and finishing with a BBQ. Keep an eye open for their Menus and itinerary for the day. **************************************************************
BOWLS
The Bowlers had a Quiz Night hosted by Linda Jacobs. It was well attended and very enjoyable. As for the winning team.....well...they were very surprised!!!
There is to be “An Open” Bowls afternoon on Easter Sunday 1.30pm onwards. Come along and give it a try! All Newcomers Welcome come along and have a go. The Mayor of Winchester will be ‘Officially’ opening the Green on Sunday May the 1st at 2pm for our Centenary Season. Local Press will be attending too. A ‘Fun Bowls Competition’ will follow the Official opening.

The Bowls Section is a very valuable asset to the main Club, and for a moderate additional subscription, Club Members can enjoy the benefits it offers. Extra Social Life, Exercise, Non to Strenuous Sport etc.
Costs ‘nothing‘ to give it a try. Come along on Easter Sunday and see for yourself! All ages Welcome!!

ENTERTAINMENT AND EVENTS
We apologise for any changes to the program, they are beyond our control. As you can see we have a few blanks...Nick and I are new to organising the entertainment so please bear with us! They will be filled! We would like to know what you think of the acts....so please pop your comments into the Members Box addressed to either Nik Hancock or myself. That way we will get an idea of who you like/dislike. Thanks!
