It was doom and gloom at the Committee Meeting last night! We are looking at massive bills for repairing the boiler, replacing pipework, removing asbestos, replacing seven windows and insulating the roof. So we need your support more than ever. You know the saying.....’Use it or lose it’ well, it certainly applies right now. Hire of the Churchill Room is £20 per hour for Non Members and £15 per hour for Members. We have (I think) the second biggest dance floor in Winchester. If you want to book then Gary and Al can help you.

Bowls are having a mixed season with their league Results, winning some loosing some! In July they have two ‘Major’ events...Our “Australian Pairs Open Tournament” on Sunday 17th ...and then our “Centenary Invitation Tournament” on Sunday 31st. As always, newcomers are welcome to come along to the ‘Green” on Monday Evenings from 5pm onwards. Congratulations to our Treasurer Len Benton on winning his first match!

Now to lighter news! June was a good month for the Club, well for most of us I think. On behalf of the Committee I would like to Thank Everyone who helped out...too many to mention. Tim and Mandy’s Golden Wedding Party had the Churchill Room rocking. What a pity we haven’t got the support to having it rocking like that at least twice a month. So Thank you Tim and Mandy for supplying a brilliant band and giving us a great evening. Gary will be doing some Disco’s and they will be put on the Notice Boards and on-line in advance.However live music will only be twice a month and has to fit in with bookings in the Churchill Rooms. After all that’s where the money is.
If we get enough interest we might have a French Evening, with a lovely French Lady (who sings in both French and English) who loves to sing Swing and Jazz. We are going to combine that with a French meal. It will be strictly in the Churchill Room.
