October Newsletter
THE WINCHESTER CLUB
OCTOBER 2022 NEWSLETTER
October has started well for the Club! We had a really good turn out for ‘The Bugles” which carried on throughout the day and into the evening. Lucie Dunning our Act for the night stepped in at the last minute due to an unforeseen cancellation. She saved the night.......!
It was also ‘Our’ Mike’s Birthday Celebration....not his actual Birthday. Fiona treated us to Pizza and Nibbles and judging by the happy faces, I think everyone had a great evening.
Halloween Fright Night is looming and it should be a really good night.
I am positive that Rosemary and her Team will transform the Churchill Room into something worthy of the Occasion!! There will be a Prize for the Best Costume......so come on its the only time you can pretend to be someone or something else. Its FUN and who doesn’t like to laugh! Stax of Soul are looking forward to playing for you and as they are local, please give them a big, big Welcome. Tickets are on sale! Don’t forget to book your meal.....
PARKING AT THE CLUB is causing problems! Members are not showing their parking permits. PLEASE remember to put your Permit on your dashboard. There is plenty of parking in the public car park next to us and it is free after 6pm.
The usual events are taking place in the Club. Snooker (pre-booked), Bingo on Monday afternoon and Sunday Evenings. Quiz night the 3rd Wednesday in the Month. Tea Dance. The Hammers. Bridge Night. Slimming World. Look on the board by the Main Door for more details.
In fact the only thing that has stopped is Bowls...which will of course return next season. Most if not all, enjoyed the very hectic “Centenary Season”. Preparations are now centered on “The Centenary Presentation Dinner Dance” on Saturday 12th November. The Mayor and his Wife will be attending. Any Main Club Members are welcome to attend. Full Details are on the Bowls Notice Board in the Club Entrance.
Closing date is 21st October. ENTERTAINMENT
26TH NOVEMBER.....70’S SHOW..... MORE TO BE ADDED.....
