JULY 2025 NEWSLETTER
Hello Everybody! It’s hot, hot, hot, but we mustn’t moan because we know it won’t last. Those of us who remember the Summer of 1976 will remember the brown grass, brown leaves. Our gardens and countryside really suffered that year. So make the most of it and stay safe!!
News from the Committee
The building of a Disabled toilet is slowly but surely getting closer. The refurbishment of the Ladies and Gents will start after the completion of the Disabled Toilet.
Crib.
The Crib Round Robin Tournament is underway. A big thank you to Matt Stewart for organising and doing the administration.
Snooker
Graham will be organising the 3 Reds Competition in July. Dates TBC.
Bar Staff. Entirely my fault….I forgot to mention in the June Newsletter, we have, as you might have already noticed, a new face behind the Bar. Welcome Heidi!!!! She has settled in very well, so please introduce yourself to her and make her welcome.
The Football Sweepstake
Committee Member Richard Smith ran the Sweepstake, so a big Thank You to you Richard. As a result of the sweepstake Richard was able to send a cheque for £160.00 to our 2025 Charity …The Alzheimer’s Society. Many Thanks to those of you who took part.
Raffle’s
Two faces we all recognise in the Club have stepped up and kindly taken Eileen’s place doing the raffles at events. They are the well known Comedy Duo known as Rita and Di ( no doubt I’ll get a clip round the ear for that, but perhaps they won’t read the Newsletter). Thank you Girls!! x
Entertainment
Tickets for our Summer Ball (with a Buffet) featuring Abba’s Angels will be going on sale shortly. We may have to restrict numbers and/or book your table. We haven’t decided how to do it as yet!
Race night date to be decided but it will be a Friday.
