August Newsletter
THE WINCHESTER CLUB
August Newsletter 2025

Hello Everyone,
Have we just had the wettest and the hottest July ever or is it my imagination? I wonder what this month will bring us!

News from the Committee.
*******************************
It has been brought to the attention of the Committee that some members are smoking cannabis in the Cattle Market Car Park and the smell has come into the Club through the Churchill Room fire exit. The Club has CCTV all around the Club and inside of course and therefore those caught will face a disciplinary which could result in dismissal from the Club.

Signs will be going up to remind Members not to Drink or Take Drugs and Drive.

Medway Building Services will start work on the Disabled Toilet in November with the other 2 Phases starting in the New Year.

Sadly, we have learnt of the passing of Eileen Elloway. She was a strong stalwart of the Club and organised a lot of Club raffles as well as selling bingo tickets on a Monday. She will be very much missed by her friends and family.

Before I finish two things…..I guess you must have realised that Our Gary isn’t around. He’s on the mend but might be missing for a week or two. I’m sure you must all want to wish him a speedy recovery. We will find a Card for you all to sign!

And Finally, Congratulations to our Ladies Bowls Champion Vic …Well done Girl!!! Fingers crossed for the semi-final of the Champion of Champions on the 1st.

Thats it!

Sandie.
